While I'm not getting this box - I loved keeping up with the spoilers to be included. I would love to try another GlobeIn Artisan Box soon so I like to see the types of things they are choosing now. June's box was all under the theme, Entertain, to help you entertain guests this summer. I also really like the photos they used to promote the products. They all worked really well together and gave a really good sense of what these items will look like when used together.
1. Recycled Water Bag + Hand Dyed Batik Coasters from Ghana
A Ban Against Neglect is a student-founded non-profit that educates, employs and empowers young mothers in Ghana. These women learn to sew and gain the skills and confidence to support their families. These coasters are handmade from hand-dyed batik fabrics and upcycled plastic bags that Ghanaians receive their water in - also keeping the plastic bags off the street!
2. Za'atar (Thyme) Spice Mix from Palestine
This Middle Eastern spice mix is great for an extra boost for your body, mind and soul. Palestinian folklore says that this has potential to increase your neurological capacity. This blend of dried thyme, wild sumac, cold pressed olive oil and roasted sesame seeds can be used to marinate meats, spice up a bowl of hummus or spread onto flat bread.
3. Sun-dried Tomato Caper Spread from Palestine
This product comes from women-owned tomato drying cooperatives in Palestine. This spread can be served as a dip, spread over a slice of warm bread, mixed into pasta, or onto anything else wanting a rich tomato flavor.
4. Matr Boomie Handmade Tea Time Bunting from India
Accessories like this have helped 2,700 Indian women quadruple their salaries while working from home! Matr Boomie partners with women in male-dominated households and through training and crafting income, empowers them to support their families, and eventually earning financial independence. This bunting is made from recycled Indian saris.
5. Palm Leaf Basket from Mexico
Martina Garcia has been making these since she was 6 years old. Because of her sales through GlobeIn, Martina is able to rent a space to sell her products and work on creating more. Every box contains one of these handwoven baskets.
