March was the first month and I received what I assume to be a normal box. I never received any box in April at all and from research that I have done -- neither did many other people. There were some that did receive a box in April and it was filled with normal items, then there were some people who received just barely half of what others did. When the company was questioned they used the excuse of the holidays - Easter - that caused the delay. During this same time the Taste Guru web site was not functioning - you could not log into your account to see if anything had been shipped - AND most importantly you could not log in to cancel any future payments so MANY people got charged again and again and there was nothing they could do because the company would not answer their emails or their phone calls.
I have questioned the company many times and each time I get the same response -

Here at Taste Guru we have been working exceptionally hard all April to get our boxes out. We ran into the following issues that have caused a two week delay in sending out our boxes.
First, the holidays slowed down food delivery and packing. Second, scheduling pick ups were more difficult with the holidays. Third, and by far the most challenging aspect we faced was we changed website and database platforms to meet the interest of our customers wishing to purchase product directly from us that they find in the boxes. When we transferred from our old database to the new one the data field for customers shipping address did not move over correctly. This has caused us to rebuild the entire database for shipping information by hand. With tens of thousands of records to go through this took a long time and caused a very frustrating delay. This is also why you are unable to log in to your account at this time.
We have confirmed you are on the list to get your April box, as well as the list to get your May box. Again, we apologize for the delay and please let us know if you have any further questions.
Luckily I was able to cancel any future payments - even though my 3 month subscription was a 1 time deal, and it said it was not going to auto renew - I got an email that said I was going to be charged $102 for another 3 month subscription. Thankfully I did get an email through to them and they canceled my subscription - assuring me I would receive 2 more boxes.
Around mid May I received the smallest Priority Mail box with a few bars, some horrible crackers and a small package of gf orzo in it. This is worth $34? Highly unlikely. It was pathetic and it all got thrown in the trash other than the orzo.
I'm still waiting for my April box -- and they won't answer my emails inquiring about it.
During all of this, subscribers complained constantly on their Facebook page, so you know what their response was to that? They removed the ability to post on their Facebook page!! The only way to communicate is to post a comment on something that they have posted, but you will notice if you post anything negative they hide it. You'll see that a post has 13 comments but you can only see 3 of them. That's because the other 10 are people mad as hell about not receiving what they paid for but they don't want you to see that.
They also have earned a few more BBB complaints recently.
They keep posting Groupon specials and Gilt City specials and sales for their subscriptions. That's all well and good but it would sure be nice if they would just give us what we paid for.
Just consider this fair warning - if you dare to do business with this company - you just need to beware.
