The mission of the Be Nice Box is to do their part and make the planet better. That means reusing packaging and working with small businesses and local artists and giving back to their community. They also give away $1 for each Be Nice box purchased. The Be Nice Box is about showing you how to spread kindness around your own community. I decided to see what this box was all about. I like being nice and spreading kindness and I wish more people that I encounter felt the same. When I first opened the box I was happy to see a nice personal note to me. I now have the distinction of being the first person from NH to order! |
On May 2nd:
Plant something awesome! Bees & other pollenators rely on plants and flowers.
Included in the box:
Seed bombs from Janell Mooney
If I can keep the squirrels from stealing these I might just be able to grow something!
On May 5th:
Tell someone how sweet they are.
Included in the box:
Honey Sticks from MN Honey Co & a $5 coupon
I'm not sure how this would go over - just handing someone a honey stick and saying - "Gee you're really sweet!" but you have to start somewhere.
Hand out dog treats to your fave pup
Included in the box:
Treats from Barkleys Bistro & a $1 coupon
Well I'm behind on doing these things according to my mapendar but I will definitely bring these treats along with me when I know I'm going to encounter a dog.
Share a tasty treat with your favorite animal lover.
Included in the box:
Vegetable Leather from Veg This Way
I'll happily give any animal lover both of these. I've never had vegetable leather before and I wouldn't be against trying it but Super Sweet Potato would not be my first choice to try. That's ok, you can't love everything.
Along the mapendar there are many other suggestions to do throughout the month, such as leaving out food for your postal worker for the food drive on the 10th, supporting your local animal shelter on the 14th, go to freekibble.com and answer a trivia question and they will donate 10 pieces of dog food on the23rd. On the 26th avoid squishing or killing bugs and spiders and on the 30th water some plants!
I think this box is really cute and if nothing else, it helps you to remember that it really is important to be kind to everyone around you. Everyone has things going on in their life and just think what a little bit of kindness on your part could do. It will make them feel good - and it will make you feel good too!
The Be Nice Box is $15 and you can sign up for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months and it is FREE shipping. The theme for the June box is "Full Bellies" and it's all about FOOD! That one could be interesting! There is a lot more to read about this business on their site. Please visit http://www.benicebox.com/ to learn more. ~~ Sharon ~~ |
