Since all of the information on the candy is in Japanese - you also receive an email that explains all about each of the candy items that you got. This is very helpful, because as you can see below, unless you can read Japanese you would not have any idea what you are eating. You can always just be adventurous and go for it though! That is the fun part - biting into something that you have no idea what it is, and coming from Japan it could be almost anything.
ANPANMAN PERO PERO CHOCO
I actually ate this first item without knowing what it was. I thought I could pretty much tell that it was at least some kind of chocolate and to my surprise it was actually very good!
Anpanman is one of the most popular anime characters among Japanese kids and has been going on in Japan since the 80s to today. The package is decorated with characters from the series and also the lolly itself has character imprints. The name means "Anpanman Lick Lick Chocolate".
SAKURA MOCHI
Bottom is chocolate. Inside is "mochi gummy" (mochi is Japanese rice cake). On the top sakura (cherry blossom) mochi chocolate and sakura leaf powder.
This one takes a little more getting used to. It reminded me of the chocolates in a box that are filled with the gummy kind of jelly, but the jelly part is not that sweet. It was very unusual.
KURUKURU TAKOYAKI
This one is by far the most complicated candy kit I've seen - especially since the instructions are all in Japanese! Thankfully they have provided a video that clearly gives you the instructions to make this treat.

I have not had the time to make this creation yet, but when I do I will certainly study the video more closely.
Candy Japan is $25 per month and you will receive 2 packages per month with between 2 - 6 items and shipping is always FREE all the way from Japan!
