Then, in our quest to review subscription boxes, and just have fun doing something together, even though we are almost 3000 miles apart, Kelli and I just share the fun of buying things, comparing things, seeing what we can get for free and just communicating from a distance. That's how I came to sign up for the Phone Case of the Month. With a coupon code of ILOVEPCOTM and you get $5 off when you sign up. I thought, well $5 isn't bad and it means I get something else in the mail and it just sounds fun. Little did I know that once you sign up they send you a link that you can post for other people to sign up and if they use that link you get another $5 off and THEY also get a $5 credit. It just keeps going and going!
The day finally came when my new phone case arrived and I was anxious to see what I got. After all, that's really the fun of it, don't you think? Just like when you open the grab bag and take that first peek inside? Is it a dud, or is it a good one?
Each phone comes with a unique hash tag and you are encouraged to take a picture and post it on Facebook, tweet about it and also find out where other cases just like yours have ended up all over the world.
I think that's a cool concept. I'm not into Twitter so I don't really do that hash tag thing. I'll stick with Facebook and our little blog.
The company seems really fun though. I love that they signed the card with Sincerely, Awesome Phone Case of the Month Staff. I tend to respect anyone and any company who doesn't take themselves too seriously. Believe me, working for state government for 30 years, I am surrounded by people who think they run the world and really, really take themselves too seriously. I love people who can just relax and live and not worry about what other people are doing. Any company that has a little fun makes me jealous because I don't work for them!
So I pulled out my new phone case and look what I got! This case has the work of Dylan Thomas on it complete with a coffee stain! This is Do Not Go Gently into That Good Night - which is his most famous work, and written for his dying father. It is so unique and quirky that I fell in love with it's coolness right away.
Inside the pouch there is also a card with his famous refrain: Rage, Rage against the dying of the light. Another hash tag which I assume has another whole following on Twitter.
Then there is a sticker, which I assume I got because I have an iPhone, which says "haha...YOUR APPLE IS SHOWING"
Cute.
The only negative thing about the case is that it's one of those that is the exact same size as the phone. I am used to a case that comes around to the front and has a little lip around the front, which protects the screen a little bit more. Having my phone back to it's original size after so long with a bigger case I find I can barely hold on to it because it's so small! I am trying to get used to it.
I found this a fun subscription to have and the randomness of it just added to the excitement. Since I have another $5 credit I am going to keep this going for another month and see what shows up in March.
If you would like to sign up for a Phone Case of the Month AND would like to benefit me with a $5 credit AND get yourself another $5 credit you can use this link: Phone Case of the Month or for Kelli's link use Phone Case of the Month and don't forget to use that coupon code from above to get your first one for $5.
