DOLLAR SHAVE CLUB:
The first club I tried was Dollar Shave Club. They have 3 different razor types that you can choose from. It says they are razor blades for men, but women use them too and I figured I could also. You can choose from a 2 blade, a 4 blade or a 6 blade! They all come with handles and a package of 4 - 5 cartridges. Prices range from $1 a month to $9 a month, depending on what you choose.
I chose the middle of the road option: the 4 blade for $6 a month that came with 4 cartridges, a handle and they also threw in some free Shave Butter.
The 4 blade razor was a bit much and it felt very exposed to me. I'm used to the Gillette Venus razor where there is plastic around all sides of the blade, so it was a bit for me to get used to. I decided to try a different kind.
You can see if you like them at http://www.dollarshaveclub.com/
The next kind I decided to try was ShaveMob. This company has razors for either men or women. Again, you have 3 options: 3 blade, 4 blade and 6 blade.
I decided to go with the 4 blade this time because I liked the look of the razor itself with more protection around the sides. The 6 blade looks more like the Venus that I am used to, but it has a pivoting aspect to it that I'm not sure about. I think I am going to try that one next though.
When you choose whichever option you want to go with, you have the option of purchasing a 2 month supply (which consists of 1 handle and 4 cartridges), a 6 month supply (1 handle & 12 cartridges) or a 12 month supply ( 1 handle & 24 cartridges). If you're like me, you may not go through a cartridge in 1 week or even 2. Because of the price I use those babies until they can no longer cut! At these prices though, you can change your razor much more often without breaking the bank. Each type has it's own price structure and you can decide which one works the best for you. I will continue my quest until I find the one that is just right for me |
Each of these companies also has an incentive program that helps you earn credits towards free razors by getting more people to sign up. This is not in support of that - I'm just sharing what I've learned here. Using the links above will not benefit me in any way.
There are more razor companies out there and I intend to try some more until I find just what I'm looking for.
