Crafty Crate is something I would have absolutely adored growing up. That's not to say that I don't now - because I love DIY projects and arts & crafts. I always have. But this would especially be fun over summer vacation or something. Now, it's the perfect weekend project to unwind from the work week. I wasn't sure what kind of craft it was going to be, but I was not disappointed. This is a monthly subscription that provides all the supplies you'll need to complete that month's project. I was lucky enough to receive this box for review. This month's project is..... |
The first step was to make sure the glass is clean to begin outlining the design in the picture with the black simulated liquid leading. This is a little difficult to get totally straight and even because it's hard to squeeze the bottle and hold your hand steady at the same time. I think it came out pretty good though - and does look a lot like real stained glass, with the joints in the glass usually not being totally even. This should set for at least 8 hours. I did this around 3pm on a Saturday and let it dry overnight, starting the color the next morning. This was more than enough time, I just didn't want to start coloring at 11pm. It does start to dry fairly quickly, so make sure to fix any errors immediately to avoid smudging the whole line. |
