Taste for Sweets is $16 monthly. Use the coupon code TAKE50OFF and you can get your first box for just $8, which is how I got this box. I figured for $8 I would check it out because I definitely have a TASTE FOR SWEETS!
For every box ordered they donate to several non profits working to provide safe water to several regions around the world.
The box showed up with no explanation at all as to what all these items were. I thought that was a little weird. I guess it would make it an adventure just unwrapping and biting into each thing. It would also be a little scary since you don't know what could be inside. Remember the Japanese candy had some stuff that had fish in it? No thank you!
The day after I received the box though, I received an email with descriptions of all of the snacks! Now I can share them with you.
BON O BON - from Brazil - Peanut cream and wafer filled milk chocolate bon bon.
TIRAMISU CARAMEL TRUFFLE - from Russia - Traditional sweet tiramisu caramel flavored truffle.
ROSHEN MONT BLANC - from Ukraine - A tasty combination of two chocolates and chopped hazelnuts.
MIEZANKA KRAKOWSKA - from Poland - Chocolate coated sweet jelly candy.
SHIPUCHKA ROSHEN - from Ukraine - Hard candies with fizzy orange, lemon and fruity flavors.
ULKER DANKEK - from Turkey - Chocolate orange sauce filled with cocoa vanilla flavored cake.
ZEPHYR SOUFFLE - from Russia - French zephyr souffle covered in chocolate.
PTICHYE MOLOKO - from Kazakhstan - Chocolate covered vanilla souffle.
STRAWBERRY CREAM CAKE - from Japan - Soft and delightful strawberry cream cake.
'SQUIRREL' HARD CANDY - from Ukraine - Hard candy with a nut in the middle.
DUSHES CANDY - from Belarus - Popular pear flavored hard candy.
TURRON SUPERCOCO - from Columbia - All natural coconut hard candy.
'CUP OF MILK' - from Ukraine - Individually wrapped soft caramel with milk filling.
My observation is that Ukraine has yummy sounding candy - the squirrel one is funny. They call it a squirrel candy because it has a nut in the middle? haha!
I've never heard of Belarus. I looked it up. Here is your geography lesson for the day:
Belarus, officially the Republic of Belarus, is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe bordered by Russia to the northeast, Ukraine to the south, Poland to the west, and Lithuania and Latvia to the northwest.
I think this was a successful box for me. I only paid $8 and I'm going to get to try all of these different treats from different countries - that's a total WIN for me!
If you'd like to be adventurous and and try a box - head on over to http://www.tasteforsweets.com/ and don't forget to use that coupon code TAKE50OFF (if it is still valid, sorry if it's not) to get it for half price! If you get anything outstanding - let me know!
