I was definitely looking forward to this month's Nerd Block because I knew that classic TMNT and Guardians of the Galaxy were included. I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed overall. Maybe I had gotten my hopes up too high - but this box sort of feels like it would have been better suited as a Nerd Block Jr. I definitely don't feel like it lives up to my own and anyone else's hype in general. |
| I cannot find a value for these anywhere because I guess you can only buy a whole case of them? Either way, I dunno how I feel about this. I got Venom (a character I don't really care about) and it sort of seems like something my brother would have played with when he was 6 years old - not really something I would even put on display anywhere. Just seems a little cheap to me, I guess? |
Again, can't find a value for just one blind box because they all come in cases of like 24 - but anyway. I don't know anything about Scribblenauts but I did know that it would be included in this month's box so I wasn't surprised. I do like that I got Batman though - or something like Batman... with fangs? |
I do like this T-shirt but I also received a note that said because of some stocking issues, they were unable to provide me with the size I requested. I wanted a small and ended up getting a medium - way too big - so this goes to my roommate! Luckily he likes it too so it won't go to waste. Unfortunately, this is the only GotG item in the box. | I would never pay 10 dollars for a stuffed STD - but that's okay. Because this is September's box, their thought was to educate students going back to school. I hardly think making deadly diseases into cuddly little toys is educational... |
Somehow this item was dubbed by the Nerd Block staff as the top NB item of 2014. I found this on Amazon for about $20.00. This is probably great for a kid that will actually play with it but for a Ned Block Classic - this just doesn't fit in my opinion. It was fun to put together but now I have no idea what I'm going to do with it. If I had an empty shelf, I might just set it up somewhere but I don't really have anywhere for it to go. Maybe I'll find a place, because I do really like TMNT. This was just one of the reasons I wanted this box and I can't help but feel letdown. |
As a consolation for not providing the size of shirt I had requested - they included what turned out to be the only item I really liked! This is a popular selection on ShirtPunch, free of charge. This one is actually in my size so I'm keeping this one! Turns out it was actually a good thing they couldn't provide my size - now my roommate and I both get a shirt! |
This box costs $19.99 (+$9.50 shipping) and I received about $55.00 worth of items (about $65.00 including the extra T-shirt) which is a great value, but I feel like they could have picked way better items for the Classic box. I really felt like this was a Jr. box by accident. Judging by the comments on their facebook page, I'm not the only one that was really let down by this month.
