This month's theme is Warriors so I thought it might be pretty cool. I had actually cancelled my subscription at the end of last month, but reactivated when I found out the theme.
Honestly, I had to google this because I am not at all familiar with Bravest Warriors. I LOVE Adventure Time and Pendleton Ward but I have never watched this particular creation so THAT is why this box is not exactly my cup of tea. I'm sure if I ever get around to actually watching it and (probably) falling in love with it because it was created by Pen Ward, I will learn to appreciate these items. Regardless, I tend to like the items that Loot Crate Labs had anything to do with because that means they're more unique than mass produced items sometimes included. Not that I like those any less, it just gives these a bit more charm! That's also why I'm estimating the dollar value! |
I usually like blind boxes - they're like a mini subscription box or grab bag and that's really what we love, isn't it? I'm glad I got the Sideshow collection rather than the Bot collection because I like the designs a lot more. This is the argyle warrior designed by Scott Tolleson. I actually like this one a lot, it's kinda cute for a warrior. It came with a little bead necklace and the staff. I can appreciate this just as a little knick knack that looks pretty cool on a shelf. |
Again, I don't know anything about Bravest Warriors or Catbug or anything and I don't wear bow ties so this is quite a miss with me. Black Tie Geek seems to have just formed and they said this is their first product, debuting specifically for Loot Crate so I couldn't get an accurate dollar value. I honestly don't know what I'll do with this. If anyone wants it, let me know. I'll send it to you! |
This is definitely my favorite item in the box, simply because I love bacon. I can't imagine loving someone more than bacon, but I do like this card a lot. I really which the writing wasn't on the back of the bacon heart side because I would actually prefer to cut this in half and hang them up next to eachother. So I guess I'll just hang up the heart bacon. | OpenMe Bacon Love Card - Retail ~$5.00? |
One of the other reasons I reactivated was because I saw that there was going to be a tshirt included this month. Eh. I'm a little disappointed because I don't understand all the references, but I get enough of them to appreciate the shirt as a whole. The biggest bummer is that the graphic isn't even centered on the shirt! It's off to the left (if you're looking at it) and crooked. If you really look at the picture with your head aligned with the neck, you'll see it's pretty clearly skewed. But whatever, I like having extra shirts to wear on laundry day or to bed. I'm okay with it. |
This month's box also comes with a commemorative pin - this was just recently started last month and I kinda like it! It's pretty cool for a long-term member to be able to see all of these together displaying each month's theme. Mike Vasquez actually designed this pin, and if you remember, the Catbug and Impossibear Star Wars crossover sticker was designed by him in December's crate. This month's crate came with the first issue of the Bravest Warriors digital comic as well (valued at $1.99) so maybe I can get into that as well! I feel like I have to give it a chance because Adventure Time is so near and dear to my heart. The last item in the box is a Bravest Warriors sticker. I don't get this reference either but that's okay. |
If you'd like to give Loot Crate a try, it's $13.37 + $6.00 shipping for a total of $19.37 a month. This month's box had probably $50.00 worth of items PLUS the added value of a few one-of-a-kind exclusive Loot Crate items. Head over to www.lootcrate.com and sign up! Use the coupon code "MARCHLOOT" to get $3.00 off!
