Mary's Secret Ingredients is a culinary surprise box containing unique gourmet, artisinal ingredients along with small kitchen products. 10% of their annual products are donated to Feed the Children. Only 100 boxes are available each season. This is the Spring box and there will be a Summer, Autumn and Winter box. Mary is a life long foodie who has authored the internationally recognized food blog LOVE - the secret ingredient. I came across this new subscription box in my searches and just had to try it out. I love any boxes that come filled with food! |
The box came very well sealed and the ingredients were well packed and it was all in a very nice presentation. It was packed so well that nothing had moved in shipping and it still looked really nice as I opened the box. They had clearly taken a lot of time and care when packing up this box. I'm only surprised that there wasn't a kitchen product in the box. Hopefully next time! |
Quadratinis, Dark Chocolate Bite Size Wafer Cookies by Loacker
Mmmmm...these are delicious little snacks. I've had these before, I think I bought them at The Meat House. Unfortunately since they have wheat in them I can't eat them anymore, but I'm sure my husband will enjoy snacking away on these.
The other flavor available was Hazelnut. I am glad that I got the dark chocolate ones - just in case I sneak a few!
Calmer Sutra Tea - Peppermyntle ~~ Peppermint leaves with a hint of sweet lemon myrtle. This blend is fresh and minty with subtle citrus notes. It's perfect for refreshing your body and settling your stomach.
All natural cheese straws made with aged sharp cheddar. Based on the owner's great grandmother's family recipe for cheese straws, this version has been released in an updated cheddar chipotle variety.
The right blend of high quality ingredients creates these perfect gourmet snacks.
I've never tried these before, unfortunately - wheat again though. They look like they would be pretty tasty!
The ultimate Mediterreanean spice - with rich aroma, full flavor and atioxidant properties - is inextricably linked to red sauces, Greek cuisine and pizza in any form. Following the tradition of Harmonian spice collection, the oregano is collected by hand from wildcrafted plants in Pindos' cliffs, contributing a unique, strong aroma in contrast to conventionally cultivated oregano.
Super lean cuts of pork and beef are coarsely ground and blended with just the right amount of fresh cracked black pepper to give this slightly chewy traditional German snack it's fabulous Old World flavor. Then they let their smokehouses work their magic, bringing the essence of sweet applewood to each and every bite.
Yummy - too bad there wasn't some cheese included to go along with these!
Pineapple Habanero Jerk BBQ Bath Brine - Sweetwater Spice Company
This brine is a classic, island inspired recipe with the tradtional flavors of pineapple, thyme, allspice, garlic, onion and habanero chiles. In all, there are 16 herbs and spices and each hits the tongue together with an extra kick from the habaneros.
This seems like it would be great to slow cook pork in or maybe even some chicken. This will definitely get used!
The cost of the box is $25.95 and the next one comes out on June 25th. I paid $21.95 for my box because I used the coupon code 4LOVE. This code will also work for the June box. You are guaranteed at least $30 worth of products. I plan to order the June box soon. The boxes can be ordered at any time and at only $21.95 every 3 months that works out to be pretty cheap and you get a really nice surprise box in the mail!
